The importance will be in doing the work regardless of any awards. :)

This entry was originally 2 years ago

written for my creative arts center goal months ago but applies to this goal even more…

In another life I shoulda, woulda, coulda been a science teacher (Astronomy,Biology, Ecology, etc). That would have rocked!

Children who I have never seen before come up to me whenever I go out and mothers let them…

One time recently I walked into a local pizza parlor for lunch. As we were being seated a baby literally jumped out of her mother’s arms and into mine. The strange thing was the mother just smiled and let me hold her.

That was a clue to my true talents…

My books will explore the world around us in ways children can understand. :)

The Newberry Medal 2 years ago

and the Washington Post/Children’s Book Guild Nonfiction Award are both something I would love to achieve for my writings for children about nature and the environment.

I am truly inspired by 2 recent winners of the Children’s Guild Award, 2004 Winner Dorothy Patent and 2006 Winner Sneed Collard,III both currently live in Missoula.

Is it a small world or do birds of a feather truly flock together?

It may be time for my migration home. ;)

My Inspiration 3 years ago

My brother passed away last April from a sudden heart attack at the young age of 50. In his memory I am developing a series of children’s books.
