I know. I’ll probably be immediately killed afterwards, but . . . that’s ok for one day with the sun on my back & the wind whipping through my hair.

I just started an envelope fund for one. I’m socking away $5 per week by default, and more as I’m able.
I wanna buy a powder blue moped and ride around in the country.
I love mopeds, but I’m wanting to put off buy a vehicle for as long as possible.

moped = geeky = cool = fun = liberation = the feeling of the indefinable substance of life

I’m not going to be able to afford this in the near future – never mind the cost of running it. Someday, someday…

Looks like I’m not going to buy that moped from my friend after all. There’s no guarantee that it’ll work, and while I do trust my friend, she wouldn’t necessarily know what would need to be done to bring it up to scratch.
More importantly, there’s a lot of preparation I should be doing first, which I completely disregarded in my excitement. I need a driver’s license, of course; just a matter of applying for it and sitting a theory test. Then I need to find out what the tax and insurance would cost, and figure out if it’s still financially viable. And finally I need to know if I’m going to have to move house at the end of next month – awaiting the outcome of a few issues with the landlady.
Since the only one of these that I can directly work on is getting my license, that’s the next step towards this goal.

I was telling a friend of mine, who’s recently moved house, that I was looking for a moped. Turns out she has an old one in the shed of her old house, and had been worrying about what to do with it, since she doesn’t want to take it with her. It needs a good service, but if it works out, her problem is solved and I get a bike very cheaply. How cool is that?!
