My music lessons (GCSE) coincide with my drum lessons, so I always get extra long lessons or 2 lessons, which is great!

Though it is sad that at least half the other kids don’t bother turning up.

I have chosen music as a GCSE, Fool me!
I am not good enough at drums! I will embarrass myself.

But, too late now. I must try even harder at drums now than I have ever in my life.

I must be doing well. Someone I know said:
‘You’re really advancing on drums’
And my music (not drum) teacher said,
‘michaela is a really good drummer’ (To another student)

I am participating in the singers concert. I’m on drums, obviously. We’re doing Church on Sunday by Green Day.

I’m going to try my hand at composing something awesome. I just watched some GCSE drum compositions on youtube and some of them blew me away! I have a lot of legwork to do to get to their standard in less than 6 months. And considering for 7 or 8 weeks of that I am not even going to have drum lessons.

Gaaaah.

I really feel like I am progressing on this.
I used to hate being asked to improvise by my teacher, but now it isn’t so bad, I’ve gotton a better feel to what sounds good and what doesn’t so much so it isn’t as embarrassing.

And also speed, I’m slowly becoming able to go faster too.

Wow!
I went to a school concert, loads of bands playing, and, WOW.
The drummer of one of the groups blew me away.
he was so into it, so powerful.

He owned the kit.

He has so much control, and yet he didn’t even have to think about it.

Coming on well with this.
I’m taking a GCSE in music, and will do all my peices on the drums.
I’ll get guidance from my drum teacher as well, so, I should do alright. Even though the music GCSE is mega hard, it’s definatly worth a try…after all, the worst I could do is fail.

Alas, I need tips on how to create my own drum beat.
It’s all very well being able to repeat what others have done, but a) what’s the fun in that? and b) Playing beats someone else has made, doesn’t make you a good drummer, you need to be able to make your own stuff up.

I’m playing much faster now, whichh is always good =D
I’m also picking up things better, like, when I started my drum lessons, it took a whole leson to to pick and and be able to play the beat the teacher was showing me, now I pick it up much quicker.
