elzi carpe diem!
I have got a book, I have got interest, now I need to start learning. Simple as that:-)))))
How I did it: I found out about a woman teaching foot Reflexology in my area after a while of researching what it was all about.
I instantly connected with Reflexology and was eager to begin training.
It was pricey, but absolutely worth the amount of money I had to pay out.
On top of the Reflexology, I learned so much about the anatomy - completely handy!
With all the classes, homework, tests & practicums (70 to be exact) I was finished roughly around four months.
It was a lot of hard work - but totally WORTH IT!
Reflexology is relaxing, non-invasive, relieving and helps to indicate problem areas without having to do extensive testing. *We cannot diagnose or prescribe, though! This just helps us to show the client if they have a tender reflex*.
Lessons & tips: I have found that through all the treatments I have done and the recording of each one... amazing results come from these treatments! Reflexology is absolutely valid and beneficial. You'll notice healing happening!
Learn about the anatomy! It's one thing to understand what all the reflexes are... but you will understand so much better if you know what everything functions as!
Make sure you communicate with your client so that you can provide the correct amount of pressure for their threshold. Everyone is different and you don't want the treatment to be an unpleasant experience. It's meant to heal - not hurt.
Keep up exercising your hands so that they do not hurt or start having problems. In most cases, your Reflexology class will provide information on how to keep up hand and wrist health.
Notice any area on your foot that is tender... then link it to that specific part of your body... you'll start to notice that your foot informs you of problem areas in your body.
Hold hands with other Reflexologists - meaning, don't allow jealousy or rivalry get in the way... we are all hear to help others to heal... these treatments are not meant to be involved with any negative thoughts or actions.
Do research to find the best teacher for you. Make sure you know what credentials they have and if the course will certify you.
ENJOY! It's an amazing technique that you forever learn more and more about.

I saw a book that showed how massaging the foot can relaease pain in different parts of the body. I think that would be cool to learn.
anniejustine is kinda drunk
there was a program at shepherd that was a health challenge (i’m not quite sure) but there was a small flier than had a listing for free(!!!) reflexology. my mom has paid $50 for one session so you can imagine my enthusiasm. i was the only person to take advantage and i emailed the girl about how she got into it and this was what she said:
I went to the Baltimore School of Reflexology. They have a really awesome program that works great while youre still in college. They have a satilite school in California, MD at this AWESOME healing center called Joy Lane. Google Baltimore School of Reflexology (BSR) to check out the actual school. My instructors name is Catherine Vestraci, you can email her at reflexologybycatherine@verizon.net I know she would be very excited to hear that you are interested in taking the course!
each class (4 levels) is $250 !!! this goal will not be happening any time soon
Definately something worth doing if you are interested in holistic therapies, taught me a lot about myself.
Apparently, one can relate parts of the body to acupressure points in the foot. That is pretty cool. There is so much I don’t know. I want to know more.
Last night I went to my first reflexology class, it was brilliant. It’s not a certified course, but it’s very hands-on so I hope i’m going to learn a lot. I learnt how to give a foot massage and came away feeling that I knew what I was doing…now it’s just a case of practice, practice, practice.
My college have decided to cancel the reflexology course I was supposed to be doing. I wouldn’t have minded but they only let me know 3 days before the course was due to begin which meant that most of the other courses in the area were either fully booked or had started – sigh.
Back to the drawing board on this one.
I went to the college yesterday to sign up for my reflexology course, so now i’m officially enrolled. I can’t wait to start!
I contacted the college the other day and i’ve just received my enrollment form through the post – course starts at the end of September and I can’t wait to get started!
