... but iaido didn’t give up on me. So in the last months I started retraining little by little Hoki Ryu iaido after a two years hiatus, and… geez, I’m hooked!
I’m sorry, I just don’t get Seitei Gata… but I do love this koryu. Hope I can practice in France (even if I will have to do it by myself), so I’m reopening the goal. Well, the goal reopened all by itself, actually.

At least with Seitei Gata: I’m not practicing consistently, I can’t remember all the kata, I am as composed as a manic, and my very body seems not quite conformed to decently unsheath and resheath the sword (not many cases of samurai with wide hips and smaller waistline, I guess). Let’s see what’s up for me in September.
but I was still able to practise a bit of battodo. It’s amazing how actual cutting makes your body understand better even the most ritualized kata.
I pretty much have mastered the handstand and its only been a week. Maybe i have a naturall ability for this stuff.
