After extensive travel in Poland, spending there the most awesome time for the duration of almost a month, I fell in love. With the culture, the people and the language.
As I accidentally became friends with a Polish girl, during lunch at work, I now am able to learn it from her and practice it as often as our busy schedules allow.
Can’t wait to go back and be able to fully understand the heart and soul of that nation.

Czesc! My heritage is half polish and half russian. My grandparents are fluent in Polish, so they taught me useful phrases and words. The language isn’t that hard, and it’s easy to good used to it. So worth trying to learn :)
kocham ciebie.

I love the Polish language and culture. My mother is polish and I was raised speaking a relatively mixed version of Polish. During college I got frustrated that my mother rarely spoke Polish with me anymore and I really wanted to improve, so I took my savings and went to Krakow for a semester at the Uniwersytet Jagielloński. This last summer I spent four weeks with my babcia in Katowice and we never had a misunderstanding (she speaks absolutely NO english). This goal is amazing and good luck to all of you who are attempting this! Dobre szczęście!

I have been studying Polish for almost a year now, and I’m absorbing it at breakneck speed. I will be in Krakow in early October 2006 attending a 2-week intensive Polish course. When expressing myself in Polish I come closest to a true representation of self. I am the glowing, energetic optimist that I see in myself but which doesn’t always manifest itself in my current locale. I am a poet and creator, and I feel confident that I will find my muse.
