Declare 11/8/06 to 11/15/06 favorite 80's band Avatar week.

In today’s “music”, we should be grateful that the 80’s happend because if it hadn’t, we’d be stuck listening to some AM staple of the 70’s! God Bless the 80’s!

I was such a Springsteen nut in college that my roommate nicknamed me Bruce.

BTW, I’m working Sunday afternoon/evening, and will be available to chat with my 43 friends. I’m “writer1037” on both Yahoo and MSN.

I can remember watching the video for this song when it first came out when I was little, and how much I loved it-the video AND the song. I think the Joshua Tree may very well be the definitive album of the 80s.

I know U2 is not a typical 80s band per se, but they did come out of the 80s, and they’re terrific and still going! That has got to count for something! I would also love to see them live some day. Too bad I can’t make it to Hawaii in December, they’re playing a show with Pearl Jam, my FAVORITE band.

OK, I joined late, so I’m gonna stick with the boys for a little longer.
This was a really good one.
When any 43er, anywhere in the world can relate and come up with a personal association, it seems to be a more successful a-week. I still hope there’s a long time until the 90’s band avatar week, because I don’t want to burn out too quickly on a-weeks.

It happened to coincide with my pulling out my old LPs to rip them to MP3 so the house was filled with a lot of 80s music during this week.

It reminded me of college.

It reminded me of how long the songs always were and how it felt like it went on FOREVER out on the dance floor.

What great exercise it all was…

Thankfully, since it helped balance out all the beer I know I must have consumed.
