Our Sottub is fantastic 2 years ago

The bathroom in our 104 year old Victorian was too small for a bathtub. We looked at all sorts of alternatives and the vertical single person tubs were so expensive it wasn’t worth it. We ended up getting a shower unit and then buying a 220 gallon softub.

It’s so wonderful to be able to go outside, pull the cover off, take the lid off and get into the tub. It’s really energy efficient because the water is heated by the pump, there is no separate heater. The heat genereated by the pump keeps it at 104 degrees without a lot of energy use.

The other really cool thing about it is that when its empty I can easily move the tub by myself. We’ll be able to move it to our next house when we sell this one.

We usually go out to the tub every weekend morning we’re home and sometimes in the evenings. It’s great to look up at the stars from the tub, see the sunrise or see the colors of the sunset.

My group of friends, they luuuv hot tubs. I never understood it, until I started using it again. It’s pretty nice to relax on a cool day in a warm tub with bubbles, drinking wine with friends, and waiting for your finger tips to wrinkle like raisins.

A whole lot of maintenance 4 years ago

They get smelly and slimy. The supplies are fairly expensive, and the equipment becomes dated almost as quickly as computers.

I've always wanted this.... 4 years ago

I’m ALWAYS cold, I take a hot bath at least once a day when it’s cold out…. but I guess we need to buy a house first ;)
