Yay! Due to wonderful unforeseeable events,
We are on track to have ALL OUR DEBT paid off in 15 months.
That includes about $45K on my student loan, $10K on a car loan, and $1400 other credit card debt.
I’m so excited! I am tracking my snowball on
www.whatsthecost.com
and I cannot wait to be DONE.
We are doing a debt snowball. We are going to have all of our debt (minus mortgage) gone in 4 years. Including the gigantic student loan.
Of course this is assuming we can continue to work and get a paycheck!! :)
Yesterday I bought a new book (which I consider to be an investment) called “The Courage to be Rich” by Suze Orman.
IT ROCKS!!!!
Ain’t nobody gonna make me rich but ME!! So I better get on it!
I am going to get a big bonus for switching jobs. I have to start thinking about what is the best thing to do with that cash- pay down my student loan or invest it….
Decisions, decisions!!! Isn’t it nice to have options!
I think the theory about counting my chickens before they hatch is a little overrated. As they say, those who fail to plan, plan to fail! hahahaa!
I sent in my last payment for my furniture today. I basically got an interest free loan for a year from the furniture place, and I paid it off before the interest period! Yay me!
Now the only debt I have is my student loan and my house.
Student loan- there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Today I made great strides. I received a bonus at work today- I’ve been watching for it every day in my account for about a month. I finally got it today!! I sent in a payment for the balance on my car and I sent in a payment for the balance on my credit card. Then I put the rest in my money market account for my emergency fund.
I am on the way to being debt free. yeehaw!
Too many people spend money they haven’t earned, to buy things they don’t want, to impress people they don’t like.

I want to
- pay off my car
- pay off my furniture
- pay off my credit card
- stop paying for stuff on credit!!!
- pay off my student loan (HUGE—this is going to take me 6 years but I will save $30K by paying it off instead of taking the 25 more years to pay it)
