on this still- it is up at the top of my mind. I think I may try to do this for Yule.. when the snows are deep and I really need a break- I am going to find a hotel room and take 24 hours to be alone and pamper myself;) 15 months ago
I should clarify on this goal before the smart ass comments come rolling in! lol
I don’t really care for baths much. I LOVE water though amd I love swimming in natural bodies of water. I think that having baths is a watse of water and here on the farm one cannot waste water as it’s too exspensive. For a couple years we didn’t have hot water so we heated water on the stove and bathed in a 30 gallon stock tub. I loved it… we didn’t waste water and I could still have a bath.. even though not all of me fit into that little tub:) We would use about 7-10 gallons of water (not too bad when your older average toilet takes 5-7 for one single flush)and several times Dare and I would share the same bath water using a couple more gallons to heat it up.
So.. why do I want a bath? To RELAX!!!!
The conditions have to be perfect though .. I want a luxery bath. This I doubt is possible in my home however.
The bathroom is horrid and old, no one keeps it clean enough (even me- beleive me I have tried) to feel like it would be a treat. The cats and dogs lay in the bath tub more times than not (not just in the summer) and there are always little messy paw prints everywhere. for some reason there is TONS of empty shampoo bottles on the shelves cause gods forbid they could throw em out – it’s a whole two feet away to the garbage!!!
The cats sleep on the towels when no one is looking and sleep in the shelves so when you get to step out of the shower amd grab a towel to dry off you are left with an insane amount of dry cat hair stuck to your not so clean feeling wet body.
No one ever locks the bathroom doors.. nor closes them in some cases so poeple come and go while your showering, getting ready, using the toilet etc.. and I don’t accually mind this as long as I am not TRYING to relax. I do close the door and it isn’t long before someone is knocking on it in no time or just entering.. the cats paws flair wildly under the door crying to come in, the wet dogs noses and little eyeballs poking under to see who is doing what. If it gets locked someone figures that must have been a mistake so they will just pick the lock and come in anyway.. lol yes our home is a zoo… Hardly a place to try to have a serene moment.
So.. how to accomplish this? I don’t know. I figure if I am going to do it it should be all out.. candles, nice scented oils, maybe some flower petals to complete the typical picture – but most of all no one to bother me other than to silently slip in.. fill my wine glass and rub my feet. Not so much to ask, is it? 15 months ago
How I did it: 1. got clean clothes.
2. started water.
3. VERY IMPORTANT: plug tub.
4. got naked.
5. got into tub.
6. turned off water once it got to desired level.
7. washed necessary body parts.
8. unplugged tub.
9. got out.
10. dried off.
11. got dressed.

How I did it: I got in the bath. I turned on the hot water. I added cheap shampoo from Costco to the stream of running water to make bubbles. I added some Old Spice to get a better smell. Then I laid back and enjoyed it. Read how I did it… 3 years ago
I take baths whenever I’m feeling stressed out. It WORKS. I’m going to take one now. 3 years ago
For technical cleanliness, probably a shower is better… but for mental health, a bath is far superior to a shower. Even a quick, 10 minute dip in a warm tub with plain old Ivory soap is relaxing and rejuvinating… and then, there is the cliche “all girl” bath – so totally devine with the candles and scented water and loofa sponges and bubbles and a cup of tea (or a glass of coca-cola, depending on who you are :-)
Well worth it! I think that one should do this at least a few times a month! 3 years ago
I HAD A BATH AT THE TRAVEL INN :) After a very wet national champs regatta. 4 years ago
I procrastinated on doing this tonight and was pretty tired when it happened, but the bath had to be done. The tub was calling me. And it was glorious! The water felt so nice and I splashed it on my head and face and submerged myself. Had water ever felt so good? And the feeling of clean? Ahhhhh. I will have to do that more often. 4 years ago
Yes taking a bath has always been a sport or mine, in fact I, get this ( don’t pee in your britches over this) I take baths as often as “Once a Day!”, get that. Believe it or not. Yes its true.
And also believe me when i say this, ” you can do it to.” 5 years ago
I simply collected together plenty of hot water, and then got in. Who’d have thought this would be a great place to just sit for a while. I even took a book in with me. The pages got all soggy, the print smeared and it sunk, but still it was fun. Please don’t think me odd, but it crossed my mind to try this naked, I did and it was great. I recommend this! 6 years ago
