How I did it: We went to a realtor a few weeks ago because we had to have him estimate the value of our house for a new mortgage. Two weeks ago we then made a new appointment with him and pictures were made of the house. He also wrote a few lines about the house and we only edited them a tiny bit. The whole piece then was published on a dutch site for houses and we got a few responses right afterwards.
This week, our first week (!) we had four visitors in the house of which two were seriously interested and one finally took the house. It took only half an hour to debate about the price.
Lessons & tips: Clean up, declutter and create as much space as possible. People need to see the space in the house to imagine having their own things and furniture fitting in. Our house was also obsceneley clean, maybe it helped as well.
We also kept the price in a reasonable range and did not aks for the jackpot. A lot of people wouldn't have come to look at the house if it would have been too expensive. It was realistically priced and we now got an offer that is pretty close to it - we are very happy with this outcome.
Resources: Go to a good realtor in your neighbourhood. We went to a small realtor's office; they probably had no other big project to handle at that time. But we were very good looked after and counseled well enough to be rid off our house this fast.

I don’t feel at home in my own house right now. It’s terrible: it’s so clean I don’t dare touching anything. It feels like living in a showroom… We had some people to look at the house this morning and some more will come this afternoon. I think that’s all worth it since this could be the people who will byu the house. But still… I hope it’s all over soon.

People are actually coming into my house to see it and to consider buying it… Still a strange thought really. But it’s necessary and it’s going very fast now (the house is on the internet since this morning!!! And already a lot of people calles for the house!!!). I wonder how long it will take for the house to be sold.
Well, the bank beat me to it. No big surprise, there I guess. I’ll deal with it as it comes.
I decided not to. But I can’t keep the goal and say I don’t want tro any more.
We have changed our mind. My partner is going to tell yhe agen the house is not for sale.
The agent had an open home today. She was surprised at the number of visitors, and said they stayed a while. It’s being auctioned late in the month. Hopefully it will sell for a good price.
We have an agent, and her husband is lending a hand with the garden. We had two people through yesterdat. One the agent brought and the other was a neighbour. If the neghbour baout it. they could develope the back of both sections at some stage.
I’m now job hunting and will have to move I think. So we have to get the house ready for sale.
