na0 thinks that her life is only getting better day by day.
this might not be too hard to do after all,
because i am selling a good chunk of my book collection when i get ready to move.
so i will have a much greater chance of achieving this goal.
is this cheating?

as much as I love books, I own some as objects to signify that I am cool or smart ( not that I’m either) and I should only own books that I really love or are useful references.

Forcing myself to read books just to ” get them out of the way” is no way to enjoy a book or the act of reading. Fiction needs to be read when you are in the right mood for that particular book, and nonfiction can wait until you have a need for specific information or want to get into a particular topic.

Once upon a time I had read every book I owned. Now I have several thousand books and have not read about 25% of them. I already read over 300 books a year, so the problem is not that I read too little! I have cut down on the number of books I buy – mostly because I long ago ran out of space for them in my apartment. But, becuase I get about 30 books a month from the library i am not making any progress on the unread/owned books.
As with posessions in general, the ones I don’t have are more alluring that the ones that I already have.
