Lately a whole lot more strangers have been staring at me. Some of them even smirking… Not in a bad way mind you. But as the result I have been slipping from this. Why do they stare at me so often now? It’s like a faery godmother suddenly made me pretty, or something. 4 years ago

I smiled at some guy in an escalator about a week ago and at a kid staring at my hat. It was fun! 6 years ago

I’ve never had any trouble doing this—but even with a friendly smile, they tend to look away as though they weren’t looking at you. Children are the only exception. They get excited and laugh! 6 years ago

I seem to have a strong “why are you staring at me” instinct that tends to get in the way of the smiling but I am working on it. 6 years ago
