I finished this a long time ago, but have yet to conquer my goal to stop procrastinating…

After about 8 months of looking at a half-painted kitchen, it is finally done! It was a good reminder for me that once we start actually doing something it takes a lot less time and effort than we think. Taping all the woodwork was finicky but the painting itself was fast and easy. :)
Now I want to reorganize my kitchen decor and put some new stuff up on the walls, but I think for a while I’ll just mull over my options. I don’t want to be too hasty putting holes in the freshly painted walls until I’m sure what I want hung up.
I’m eager to get the hallway painted as well, in some sort of yummy butterscotch colour. It will be a bit of a PITA…lots more woodwork to tape…but once it’s done the house will feel soooo good.
We had a few not-so-wonderful roommmates over the years who left dings and such in the walls, so painting the house helps me to feel like I’m healing and reclaiming it, putting some good energy and love back into it.

It’s going to happen at last! We’re off to the paint store to get the paint cans shaken and pick up a few supplies. Finally… I can’t wait to check off this goal as completed. :)

It occured to me today that most of my goals are rather long term and I need some more short term things I can focus on as well. It’ll give me that sense of accomplishment and all. ;)
I started painting my kitchen last fall (note the fall decor in the picture! LOL) but I really didn’t have a lot of energy at that time so I gave up. I have one large wall to do and then I need to stand on the counter to get the awkward ‘above the cupboards’ places. Oh yeah, then there’s behind the fridge. It really looks so sad half done!
The colour I picked is called “Summer Solstice”, a cheery yellow one shade deeper than my living room. I like it a lot.
Maybe I can conscript hubby in to helping soon… ;D
finished the accent wall, the wall behind the stove and the one with the most exposure. now all that’s left is behind the sink and fridge.
It has been a year and a half since I started peeling the wall paper off of the walls. I will never finish and no longer care!
I still haven’t made any further progress on this goal. It has almost been a year since I started and I still have half peeled wallpaper attached to the walls. There is definitely something wrong. But what?
