window faces east, so I see the sun rise every morning. I love waking up before the sun rises and just lay in bed and watch it rise. It’s a beautiful thing. You should try it sometime.

On new years day I got up early to see the sunrise with 2 of my friends. We drove to Southead, so we could see the sunrising over the ocean and also see sydney harbour. Afterwards we had breakfast at Bondi.
I got so many nice photos, I made a slideshow of some of them which can be viewed here:

I really think I should do this more often, it was a great way to start the new year.

As I glanced to my right on my bus ride home the other night – this is what I saw. I had to jump off the bus at the next stop and run back and capture the moment.
My battery ran out after 3 shots so I was lucky.
Beautiful balmy evening in Richmond.

I drove to DC. I left at midnight Friday. I arrived in DC at 7 am on Saturday. I was able to see the sun rise on my little road trip. Yippee!! That’s 2 in this book.

I can see the sun from my bedroom window. The window that’s right beside my side of the bed. Oops, I sleep alone. The whole entire bed is my side of the bed!
This morning, I layed in bed and actually watched the sun rise. It was beautiful. What a wonderful lie in.

It was dawn on 2nd January 2006. I watched the sunrise over Chiang Mai with my family. We were at the Doi Suthep temple, high on a hill outside of the city and whilst the sun rose we listened to the Buddist monks chanting and ringing the bells.
Feeling Hopeful wonders why the titles of many of my entries lately have been numbers.
Because of my strange work hours, I’ve seen some absolutely beautiful sunrises and sunsets on my way to and from work. I try to truly appreciate them despite the fact I am driving.
My favorite sunset of all time was on a boat in Alaska in July at somewhere between 10:30 and 11:00 at night. I want to take a trip there again so much.
A close runner up was on the beach at Cape Cod last October. It was just beginning to be fall-like. The tourist season had almost wound down for the year and the beach was so peaceful. I plan on visiting home (Massachusetts) again this fall so I can hopefully experience the same feeling.
