Fortune Cookies 6 months ago

You could send fortune cookie fortunes, Jone’s soda bottle caps, or Dove chocolate wrappers to someone in an anonymous letter. They always have such inspirational messages on them! Or maybe a lucky penny, clover, or cut-out horoscope reading from a newspaper. It would be fun to just find a random name in the phone book and send one to them. Maybe send several nice things to them over the couse of several weeks. Or maybe that would creep them out insteed. :/

nice things to do... 10 months ago

if you want to do something nice to someone anonymously, do what i do; leave a pound coin in a tesco. some ones a pound short and they find something that makes there day.

I think people have a tendency to only do nice things for others if they are going to get credit for it.
I wanna do it anonymously and tell no-one about it.

Although i guess you will know i have done it once i tick it off as done..
meh.

No one i know in person will have any idea and that is what matters. ... now i just have to figure out what to do and who for.

dude, i have always wanted to do this! 10 months ago

last year, there was this girl who would always walk around the LSB; she was blind, and had a big stick to feel what was around her. i would always see her from a distance and want to help her, but i never did. so yesterday there was this guy with the same problem, so i went up to him and asked him if he needed help getting somewhere. incidentally, he was on the other side of the building. i walked with him, and he grabbed my arm and i helped him get to where he needed to be. that was just a big deal to me, because it was something i have always wanted to do. originally, when i adopted this goal, i wanted to bake cookies and send them to someone, but that looks very sketchy, and they would probably think they were poisonous. this happening was 10 times better. technically, i did this anonymously, because he didn’t know who i was, and he will likely never recognize me if we ran into each other again. but if i see him again, that would be cool. very fulfilling.

You can see the tourists in our city. They stick out. They get in the way on the train, putting their handbags on the seats next to them, lest somebody actually talk to them. I do not understand tourists.

Yet, I help them. The el train is pretty easy to figure out, but the tourists screw up the difficult “insert fare card here” operation with a great deal of frequency. Perhaps it’s my annoyance at having to wait in line behind them and watch them try to figure out how to master this intricate maneuver, or perhaps I really want to help, but lately I have been just tapping my “local guy” fare card against the reader, telling them just to walk through the turnstile, and saying “Welcome to Chicago” before walking away.

Someone lost their drivers licence by our house. My house mate and I posted it back to them with a little present and no hint that it was us that sent it on.

it's easy! 14 months ago

While driving for example, just let someone who’s blinking have plenty of space to get over.

Or when they’re entering a busy street, stop and let them in. Usually you’ll get a happy and thankful wave. As a bonus, you’ll have raised that person’s outlook on the day!
