Wind, Water, Fire, Earth and Space — 1 year ago
Indian belief associates the origin of life with the five basic elements (Pancha – five, Bhootam – Element) of Wind, Water, Fire, Earth and Space (ether). In Sanskrit, these elements are referred to as Vayu, Jalam (Apah), Agni, Prithvi and Aakasam.
The five elements have always fascinated me. Its amazing how Feng Shui views the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water as the basic building blocks of life as well.
My love for the elements makes me want to relate everything I do to them… Let me see what comes to my mind as I think about each one
Wind – enjoy the breeze that hits my face everyday, Fly that kite, Run while the wind blows my hair,
Water – appreciate the water that I drink, Visit the ocean as much as I can,
Fire – Make love in front of a fireplace in the coldest of winters- how pure could anything else be.
The warmth of the flame as I cook.
Earth – make pottery… the idea of playing with the wet mud… oh..
Space – just the idea of going skydiving gives me goosebumps… imagine taking in all that space, being a bird for once.
Strangely after I wrote all the stuff above I realized each one of the elements make me feel so ‘Sensual’. What is it that makes me feel that way? Hmm… really abnormal…
