I finally ordered the embroidery books I have been eying for quite sometime. I can’t wait until they come, I am so ready to get started!

I really want to embroider my own table linens to put into a hope chest. But I need to learn how to before I take on a big task like that

I am inordinately proud of this bib for my niece. Patterns from Sublime Stitching.

I recently saw an article in a magazine talking about learning a craft like embroidery and it showed a few examples of finished pieces. I thought “I could totally do that!”
I ordered a kit online from Sublime Stitching. They specialize in funky, cool patterns (vintage tattoos, pirates, pinups, Vegas, martinis, robots, naughty librarians, monkeys, zombies… you get the idea.) Hopefully this will be something I can do, considering I have NO sewing experience at all – I mean, not even buttons that have fallen off my clothes.
Just in case the kit doesn’t come with detailed instructions (for craft-challenged individuals such as myself) I bought a book called “Doodle Stitching” as backup.
I bought a book on needlecraft two years ago because it was on sale, but so far I’ve only managed to use the knitting and crochet sections of it. I also have all this embroidery thread lying around from my childhood days when I used to make friendship bracelets. Time to get my money’s worth!
anniepoonanny is so stoked she has a library card again!
These things are just so cute that I have to pass them on!
I’m personally too broke to buy myself anything just yet, plus I’m trying not to spend any money (saving up for Disneyland!!).
BUT! Check it: www[dot]sublimestitching[dot]com.
I plan on making some cute decor with these bad boys.

I love embroidery now! It’s actually quite simple to do and you can make some pretty cool stuff. I just finsihed 2 tea towels and I am so proud, haha. I think I am going to start on some projects for my mom and mom in law for Christmas so that way I know they will done in time!
