create an art installation

The neighborhood kids gave me a wonderful idea while they were showing me how they play with berries from the trees. I need a day off of work and good weather to implement this idea.

Finally I had the chance to do this. It was well received and I’m looking forward to doing more!

I totally did not apply for an installation competition that was due last Monday. I’ve been depressed. Feeling better now though…

“A” seems to be interested in working w/ me on this. He was even into the Austin Museum! That’s exciting.

Yeah unfortunately the studio is in another state and now that I have a job that may become permanent, it’s unfeasible.

I have discovered the perfect studio to rent. It’s $175 and super tiny but I can start moving toward his goal by putting up an installation and photographing it.

I had planned to enter a couple of competitions whose deadlines are 5/31. Fat chance of that happening now.

I need to continue to nourish my art but it’s getting harder and harder. Somehow, someway, I have to at least enter one competition. I finished two of three pieces I had planned for one.

Maybe I should dedicate one full day, like next Sunday to just getting it done. If I can at least submit to one competition, I’ll feel like I’m still on track.

I had the good fortune of meeting someone who encouraged me to try to do “illegal” installations in order to build a portfolio. Good advice!
