I’ll be there this winter between Christmas and New Year’s. I’ve always wanted to go there, but I’m not sure what to do there? Debating if I should spend the 4 days in Zurich or stay in Lucern… Can Lucern be a day trip?

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to go to Switzerland! I can’t exactly explain why, but there’s like this urge to visit. Maybe I lived there once, on a past life?

I just got back from there :)
The town(s) itself was pretty – Lucern, Bern, Zurich, Zermatt, but I didn’t like the people much.
As you could tell they weren’t used to seeing people with different styles…So I got a lot of stares and it was pretty annoying.
But other than that…Pretty good ! ;)

I want to go to the Alps very much. Also, I want to do snow boarding there. I’d like to visit Zurich and / or Bern. I can already speak German, but not very fluently, so I’ll be all right there. Although I lived in England for a few years, I’ve never seen proper fat snow before. The only snow I ever saw melted as soon as it hit the ground! It’ll be awesome to experience something new of nature.

I’m going to Switzerland either in the end on June or July ^^
We’re still planning the trip. It’s also my first time traveling with a plane…I hope I won’t throw up :D

We went to Switzerland this past summer. I loved spending time in the Alps. We went canyoning and white water rafting. The rafting was so incredibly cold but I think the most exciting thing I’ve ever done in my life. When can I go back???

Spent most of the time working, but got to spend some time in Lucern – lovely, historic, very clean. All the fountains have drinkable water (like big and little decorative fountains, not just water fountains). I’d love to go back and spend more time “on vacation” – but I’m still just thrilled and blessed that I got to go at all. Most people there spoke enough English for me to get by. I felt bad not knowing any German/Swiss German, but they were very gracious about it. I didn’t feel like an “Ugly American” at all while there.
The area reminded me of Tennessee. You fly in and from the air you see this lovely, large river surrounded by so many trees that you hardly see the city. Outside of town there are cows and corn and it’s just lovely. Different types of cows than what I saw in TN, but the whole “country side painting” feel was the same.
I’d love to go back with more time for “vacationing” there.
