i would like to find out more about islam and being a muslim.
my boyfriend is tunisian and muslim, im english and would just like to know how the future of our relationship will pan out with him being muslim? obviously him being muslim is not a problem for me, i love him for who he is not his religion. but i have friends who have warned me off settling down with him as muslim men ‘treat their wife bad’ etc, and that muslim men are allowed more than 1 wife at a time etc… i would just like to be more informed i guess, not that it would change my feelings for my boyfriend.
not only that but i can quieten my friends down when they bad mouth my boyfriend with facts.

it’s my second week of my degree course and i’m meeting new people (especially muslims) every where. i do want to meet converts because i am a convert myself, and i want to discuss, share ideas and simply relate to them.
my parents converted when i was younger (when i was around 3 years old), but i was truly conscious about learning more and actually serious about practising when i entered high school.
i’m learning things about islam everyday, by experience. from the people i meet, to the books i read. i’m getting my hands on sufi books. someone once told me that islam is a house and sufism is like hanging beautiful drapes or curtains in your house.
i’ve always been a fan of Rumi. we don’t have a madhab at home. i don’t know if i’d call myself ‘religious’, but i’m calling myself a ‘muslim’. i love reading (authentic) hadiths because it’s as if i’m holding conversations with the Prophet (pbuh). i’m open to different islamic view points, be it ‘liberal’, ‘conservative’ or whatever, and if you think that i’m wrong, i really don’t mind. :)
I am a muslim and i want to talk to people who want to know more about Islam because I believe I can help inshaa Allah.
I also would enjoy talking to new muslims.
