Planning one was so much fun, I think we should plan another… and another….. and another. Honestly it would be much easier if I just quit working. Then we could vacation whenever the mood struck.

for us, having to take into account P’s schedule, M & A’s schedule with their dad, and school. But so worth it. I need to make sure I do this every year.
1. P was able to take a few days off at the beginning at July, so it looks like we’re going to wine country then, albeit for a very short visit. Waterfall Nymph, are you going to be at home around July 1-3?
2. And they’re meeting this Thursday to talk about vacations further in the future, so maybe we can make progress on our Disney World Thanksgiving vacation too.
Hi, Honey!
What would you think of TWO vacations this year?
(1) a trip to California wine country with just you and Ramona and me, this summer, on a week when we don’t have M and A; AND
(2) a trip to Disney World, perhaps during Thanksgiving week, if you can get the time off work?
wants to go on a Disney Cruise. We’ll see—I’ll add that to the list.
I think he’s just scared of vacationing with all five of us. (Yeah, that’s right, P. You want a piece of me?)
I have been assigned this task, sort of. I asked P. if he wanted to take a family vacation this year, since we didn’t go anywhere last year, and he seemed lukewarm on the subject and unwilling to offer ideas for where to go. I know he wants to go back to Disney World, but it’s tough without taking the kids out of school unless we go during the summer, and I just refuse to go to Florida in the summer.
So I’m thinking about these places: San Francisco/Napa/Sonoma, Yosemite, D.C., Boston, Seattle, Portland, Albuquerque, Arizona. I have various reasons for leaning toward and away from these places, including the fact that we have friends or relatives living in some of them, and I’ve been some of those places but P hasn’t, and he’s been some of them but I haven’t.
Personally I’m leaning toward the SF/Napa/Sonoma option, but I wonder whether it’d make sense to do the Napa/Sonoma stuff with kids who won’t be tasting wine.
