see more live shows

I went to see Rhod Gilbert last night with my husband. I’d had a bit of a hectic day in work and this was just the ticket for unwinding. We laughed so much for almost 3 hours. Both he and his support – Ellis James – were just brilliant! Check out a clip of him here.

I have booked to see a few comedians over the next few months – Ed Byrne, Rhod Gilbert adn Jason Manford. Also Billy Bragg and John Etheridge with Kit Holmes. It’s nice to have something to look forward to.

I saw the Magnetic Fields last month, for the first time ever. They make me happy.
I want to see Of Montreal on November 14th, if only to see if Kevin Barnes is really as _~crazy~ as I have heard.

Rilo Kiley was amazing, of course.
They specialize in amazingness.
I highly recommend going to see them, if only to admire the great beauty of Jenny Lewis.

Next I want to see Thao with the Get Down Stay Down in August.

I’ve been waiting four years for this!

Fishboy’s show was great, he is such a good performer.
I’m going to sing with this band here in DFW now so I’ll probably start seeing a lot of live shows, including being in my own (eek!)

Going to a Fishboy show on Wednesday (which is free, always a plus!)
Should be tons of fun.

Definitely did not see everything I wanted to see, but I did get out more and after awhile it becomes a financial prioritization issue :P

Went to see Low, Rogue Wave, went to the Capitol Hill Block Party and the KEXP Barbecue, saw more Blue Scholars shows, and other stuff. Good times.
