see Fast Food Nation

The movie was absolutely nothing like the book. The book was informative, witty and well-written while the movie was an extended after school special. They tried to take an investigate look on the negative impacts of the fast food machine on the US and instead of making an informative documentary, they made a transparent plot designed to highlight the uugliness of the meatpacking industry. Incredibly disappointing, and I would recommend anyone interested to go read the book instead.

Even though I didn’t finish reading the book, the movie pretty much covered all of the main parts that I did read about. I came into the movie theater feeling hungry and thinking about what I wanted to eat afterwards, but I lost my appetite after seeing this movie…especially after the “killing floor” scene! That scene’s images is very similar to PETA’s Meet your Meat.
