I loved this when I did it in high school. As Erma in Anything Goes, I kicked up my heels, ‘moll’-ed it up, and generally had a fantastic time. I’m searching for the opportunity to get back into it. I’d love to even just be a tree in the background, singing along in Rent, Moulin Rouge, The Sound of Music, or Les Mis.

I’ve been in several shows, but here are a few I have not done, but would love to do:

i played rapunzel in my school’s performance of stephen sondheim’s ‘into the woods’. it was one of the best experiences of my life. i would not say that i’m destined to be an actor, but the process was amazing. i became quite close with my fellow cast members. and i learned so much about what goes into acting in a musical. and for once, i was able to sing in front of an audience; i must say, i’m a decent singer, but i just haven’t had the opportunity to do much with my talent. i hope anyone who so desires will try out for a musical. it is completely different from anything else.

I love musicals. I want to, one day, get voice lessons and be on a Broadway musical.

i didnt really want to go the musical my school was doing but all my friends were, peerpressure got the best of me. anyways, in the end it was a lot of fun, we performed footloose and we made a lot of great memories. i liked being on stage and letting loose

I’m not involved in any theatre, nor have I been singing. I would need to get my voice back in shape before attempting to do this.

I was in several in High School. Even though they weren’t professional productions, it was such an amazing experience! I was a chorus member in “Once Upon a Mattress,” a small part in “Oklahoma!” and Mrs. Potts in “Beauty and the Beast.” So much fun!!

the most recent musical, in which i participated was “a funny thing happened on the way to the forum.” played a eunuch. basically, i sang chorus parts. the director thought i looked too young to play any of the courtesans.

...Last year we did Beauty and the Beast for our school musical. There is no feeling in the world like when you’re done performing in a play. Even if the part is small, just being in the spotlight for 10, 15, 20 seconds is totally worthwhile! West Side Story is coming up in about three weeks, and I’m very excited to do this one again!

Yup. I was in it. It was FUN!!!
Actually, I was thinking about this the other day; I was such a rip off performer. The only reason I was in the show to begin with was because I’d had almost 20 years of highland dance training at that point. They couldn’t NOT offer me a part in the chorus/dance team. Only thing was…I coulnd’t sing.
Not that retarded thing wannabe Celine Dion’s do “Oh Gosh!! I couldn’t sing, no….oh, alright….” No, I’m talking “Can’t sing.” Like, to the point that as the producer escorted me out of my audition (at this point no decisions have been announced) “Well, next time try not to be so nervous.” Meaning: “You sucked. Good luck.” Boy was he surprised when I came back!! :^)
I have an okay singing voice, but I can’t really read music or hear myself and know that I’m off….we all think we have perfect pitch in our heads – why is that? Anyway, I basically mouthed my way through the four month process of rehearsals and performances.
Believe me, it’s better for all of you that I did.
