Yeah, I did it! After I’ve waited 3 nights in vain (bad weather), this was the last possibility, my last night in Austria. In face of snowfall I departed at 2.30am. The ascent took me nearly 3.5h and was quite hard in the snow.
Though I couldn’t see a real sunrise, I enjoyed the early sun that dispelled the fog. Fortunately there was a “Berghütte” so I could wait for the sun without being snowed. It was a delightful experience to reach one’s own goal in defiance of the difficulties – just what this website is about.

In 5 weeks time, I’ll be staying in the Zillertal (Austria) for skiing. I hope for clear and cold weather, low clowds and a moon, so the ascend will be a bit easier.
