Ive always been interested in the going ons of my town but never realized how it worked. Then one day I was reading a newspaper article about a Barnes and Noble being opened up in my area, and how the local government voted against it and I thought to myself how our town would have benefited from the store and why they didnt approve it. Then I started going to college and joined up with the Student Government Association. Ill be honest i joined because of the girls but then one day after sitting in the back at the rest of the meeting i decided to add my 2 cents about a funding situation. the whole room was actually listening to me. after the meeting i was approached by the assistant dean who just happened to be at the meeting, she said i was a beautiful speaker and if i would like to represent the student body at the state capital for a luncheon. before i knew it i was in a room with senators, house representatives and other well to do public figures. i was instructed to just talk about my school and how college life was and what would make it easier, the whole magilla. and then came the Q&A which i was not expecting. after the brief time i had at the podium i was greeted with handshakes and halg hugs, people of status telling me how wonderful of a speaker i was and if i was interested in interships and what not, i shrugged it off cause i was still in shock with the whole thing. i continued to volunteer in and out of school, i was voted as treasurer of the sga and i was on a roll. i started a group at school called the young great minds of florida. we would have talks on all subjects and had a pretty good turn out at meetings. then came the state wide student government meeting, only the best, brightest young political minds were selected to go represent there school, how suprised was i when i was selected. i got to the retreat and i find out they are having elections for state wide office, one position was parliamentarian. i liked the idea of parliamentarian because i dont liek when people work outside their means, basically i like to play by the book. so their i was again, in an weird position of speaking infront of alot of important people, trying to rally votes, and before i knew it, people were cheering for me, clapping, whooting and what not, and i won. man im getting tired,,, ill finish this later,, it gets good i promise

I’ve been a councillor for 4 years and now I’m at the end of my elected term; I’m sure going to miss the council. If anyone wants to be a politician my advice would be to go do it… if you think you can change the world then try, if you think you have something important to say then say it, or if you just want to help your local community then go do it. The world needs people, regardless of which party, to stand up and lend a hand, just contact your council or party which you would staand for and they will be able to tell you what to do! :)
So how do you become a politician if you don’t have any money. I know there has to be a way. Can you raise enough money while keeping a full-time job. I think I’m starting out in a good spot attempting to get an appointed position in local government. But who knows.
i’m into my first step to enter this field… i study politics and stuff!
but i don’t believe that a politician should study politics just to enter it.. it’s like business field… most successful people didn’t even study business… but i study politics coz i luv it.. and it runs in my veins!
