I want to breed rabbits
How to buy a rabbit
How I did it: i didn't actually buy them, they were free to a good home!!!!
they are two HUGE rabbits...seriously they are bigger than my cat!!!!!!!!
they are really cute!!!!
i am going to try and see if they will go for walks!!!!!
Lessons & tips: look in your local Pet shop to see if any are advertised or go to your nearest RSPCA centre,
i was going to get rabbits from the RSPCA but i might as well get them before they end up there

Lady Jane has finally made her journal private!
I’ve been waiting a year to get a rabbit & finally i now have the most beautiful dwarf rabbit. She’s brown and white & called amatet as my boyfriend suggested i name her. Her name means goddess of nature. We had a wonderful trip out on saturday to get her. The moment i saw her eyes look at me i knew i wanted her. The only problem was we were in sheffield and i’m living in doncaster at the moment.
Initially my boyfriend took me to look around pets at home to see the cost of hutches. However i was captivated by her when i saw her, & upon leaving i felt my heart tug as my boyfriend said that we would come back and collect her tommorow. I knew she wouldn’t be there. She was far too lovely. So half way along the journey home, my boyfriend turned around and took me back to collect her.
We bought all the correct essentials, including a large hutch, food, bedding, and a starter kit. We even bought a litter tray to house-train her. My boyfriend paid for everything on his card & helped me to get the right things required. We travelled home with the boot open as the hutch was so big & once we were back, we setup her home.
I’m really excited about spending time with her. They are my favourite animals as i grew up with them as a young girl and was always comforted by them when i was alone or distressed & had some great times caring for them & roaming about with them on the farm i used to live on. I intend to get everything sorted so that amatet, shortened to ama can have a large amount of space to roam about as i don’t feel the cages provide enough room.
In the evening we spent time with her in the house. She was quite content cuddled up to my boyfriend & she even met the cat, who greeted her gently. He didn’t fight, he was just curious about his new friend. I found a few presents in the house in the morning, so she won’t be coming inside again. Although it was lovely to have her around in the evening just letting her get to know us.
I bought a rabbit, then after falling in love with him I rescued 8 more. They were excellent house pets, litter box trained, and each was unique! They have all gone on to heaven, where I sure hope they are waiting for me in our permanent home. I highly recommend adopting/buying a bunny if you ever have the chance.

When i was growing up i was surrounded by rabbits. I started with one and ended up with alot!I used to go sit in the kennel where they lived and cuddle up to them. Rabbits have always given me comfort in my times of need. I love animals so much and when i get my own place, one of the first animals to live in my house will be a rabbit! House-trained! Rabbits make great pets. I don’t believe in caging them in the traditional way as they don’t have enough space. Giving them a kennel or letting them live as a house pet is the kindest way of keeping a rabbit in my view. I would love to have a little dutch rabbit again!
