How to clean and organize my office by Deskdude

"It certainly shouldn't take three weeks, but it will if you only work on it an hour here and an hour there."

How I did it: One piece of trash at a time. Even made it a point to get rid of "big stuff" that I wasn't using. - Electronics, computer parts, etc. Stuff that I was never going to get around to reading, I tossed with little remorse.

Lessons & tips: Be ruthless when it comes to not holding on to stuff you "might one day look at".

    Getting started 1 month ago

    I’ve been taking a bunch of stuff to Goodwill, so that’s helped with the clutter somewhat. My roommate should be moving out before the end of the year, so that will help too. I have 5 boxes of stuff awaiting posting on eBay, and a lot of papers to file.

    I can still keep organizing the minutiae, but what I basically wanted to accomplish is finished. Somehow, this doesn’t seem like a goal in retrospect so much as a “To-Do”. :)

    Mostly finished cleaning up my office, but then decided I should clear out the closet and see what I can get rid of. Now my office looks like a disaster again. lol BUT, it wouldn’t take long to throw it all back in the closet if I had to. ;)

    Got started on this today. It’s not complete, but progress has definitely been made. Started scanning some of the paper so that I could get rid of it. :)
