A bad start 1 month ago

Hmm…I fully intended to start on my new diet/exercise routine today. Ah, good intentions.
And then there were enchiladas.
And there were leftovers. So we had them again for dinner.
And there was no exercise.

But! I have the house to myself for the weekend, starting tomorrow, so it’s huzzah exercise! Wish me luck.

I’ve tried diets in the past. Lots and lots of diets. Surprisingly, Lean Cuisine was the thing that worked the best for me, but it’s really easy to get bored with those meals. Once I stopped eating the Lean Cuisine meals, I gained back some of the weight I had lost. Not a great deal, but enough to make me unhappy. I have no idea how many pounds I actually lost during that time, since I prefer to go by body measurements instead of weight. But, after the Lean Cuisine, I had lost 5 inches in my waist. I’ve only gained back 1 1/2 inches, but it’s 1 1/2 inches that I didn’t want to find again!
So now I’ve set myself a goal. I want to be down to within 10 pounds of my goal weight by March next year. Really, I want to lose another 6 inches in my waist, since I’m going by measurements and not body weight. I want a flat stomach and toned arms and legs, and a butt like granite! I’m going to cut down my diet to around 1000-1200 calories a day, and I’m going to exercise regularly. I’ve started following Nerd Fitness which is not only informative, but entertaining. I’m going to come up with an exercise routine that I can stick to without getting bored. I’ll probably change it up every couple of weeks specifically to avoid that. Hopefully, I can start posting entries about inches lost and pounds shed!

Running 15 months ago

I’ve just talked to a friend who is looking for a running partner. We’ve decided to go running 1-2 days a week, after class.
The only problem with this that I can see is that I’ll get bored with this, and start making excuses not to do it anymore within a month of starting.
I’ve got to come up with some sort of incentive for me to stay focused. Any ideas?

It's going to happen! 15 months ago

This term, I’ll be living a half hour walk from campus. So between walking and biking everywhere and finally not being in England (and binging on amazing deliciously unhealthy English food) I think I can pull it off!

Slowly, but surely. 16 months ago

In 2 weeks I get my medication to help treat my hypothyroidism. So, I am hoping that, plus diet and exercise, will help me finally reach my goal weight.

I think I've done it 3 years ago

I’m now 195lbs. Not as toned as I was hoping to be, but I just need to work harder in the gym. Is this being vain?

i’ve already lost 10 lbs, so i am on my way. i just need to stick with my good eating habits and massive water intake and keep exercising. the first 10 were easy; now comes the hard part. i think i should tape a photo of what i could look like if i keep at it on the fridge to remind myself not to snack when i’m bored or depressed.
