This doesn´t seem to be problem, I always have to read one book – classical literature for school and write essay about it. The second book is usually one of my own or something my friends recommend…

I just finished reading the book! I’ve read 300 pages today, I’m very happy with myself. Of course it’s an easy book, you don’t have to think about it, but anyway. I want to buy another book now!
When I was younger, I used to spend my days reading. But since I moved out and went to college, I have been reading much less. I feel terrible about it, I used to be a crazy Kerouac addict, I used to read Dickens and Flaubert in the same week, now all I read is Vogue. I need to begin reading more again, and it’s going to be nice because I need to concentrate and it will keep me from the bad thoughts I’m having.
The first book is really dumb, Confessions of a Shopaholic, but it’s easy reading and I really need light stuff right now. I can’t afford being depressed with Sartre. I’m already at page 230, I hope I can finish it this week.
Mc_Beth This too, Shall Pass
Clan of The Cave Bear. I wish I would have read this when I was younger because then all the things that pissed me off in the book wouldn’t have and I probably would have liked it. All I can say is, I am a very different reader now that I’m all grown up. LOL

Mc_Beth This too, Shall Pass
She Who Remembers. Great book in all.
Towards the end I started to skip whole pages where the author was repeating what she had just said a few pages back. That became annoying.
The story was a good one about a young Anasazi girls adventure in 1200 AD.
I enjoyed most the silence the book helped me feel. The silence of our Earth as it must have been before we all advanced.

For the month of Jan. 2009.

LoBot is thinking about achieving something.
I’m pretty sure this goal won’t be too hard to reach. I have been reading about a book a month for about a year now. But, I feel like that isn’t even scratching the surface. There are so many books out there that I just want to become a part of. Hopefully, I will be able to keep increasing the size of this goal.
I’ve read like 6 books in two weeks. The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Cut, The Truth About Forever, When it Happens, and most of Close Range. Plus I’m working on Prozac Nation and Good in Bed.
I joined two communities on LJ relating to this. One is a goal to read 50 books in a year and the other is to read 15000 pages in a year. I think I can do both. I’ve got this goal (read 2 books a month) down due to those. 50 books in a year is about a book a week or four books a month.
I read a lot, but recently have been reading more magazines and newspapers. Even though I’m reading what I consider worthwhile material (The New Yorker and The New York Times), I miss the world of fiction.
