How I did it: This is not something you can force. It happens when you least expect it. Keep your mind open and socialize. I met my wife 5 years ago online. When we finally decided to get married it took 2 weeks.
Lessons & tips: Don't rush into anything or only meet people with the intention of marriage. If they're not the right one there may still be things you can learn from them. You may also meet the right one through someone things didn't work out with. More friends means more options.

i’m tired of dating & committment-phobes (self included)
i’ve decided i want to be married & i want to be married NOW
however
1. there are no “potential” husband candidates @ this time
there is someone i would like to marry but our “relationship” would have to change drastically before we could begin to seriously discuss being married to each other (or even wanting to)
2. i need to get myself together before i can even think of being someone’s wife…
the same way i want someone who adds to my life, i want to add to theirs.
right now, i think i would just be taking and i don’t want to do that. so some serious self-reflection & work is in order. this is the best time b/c i’m not currently in a relationship.
when i get married i want it to be forever, i want to be a good wife, the best wife. i want to have a good deal of my silly idiosyncrasies and bad habits out of the way because those things have ruined relationships before & i won’t let them get in the way again.

OK, so yesterday I posted a free portrait to Match.com. I am not sure I will pay for membership yet but I got what I wanted: “Hope”. I found really interesting portraits of men that were potential matches. I though that would never happen! Me? Find a match??? And there were like 20 at 100% and even more between 90 and 97%. NICE!!!! I am happy :D Not bad for a “medium term” goal.
