encounter the supernatural

There is a ghost in my office 2 years ago

My co-workers have often tittered about it, noticing unusual things like objects being askew, electronic equipment flipping on and off by itself, hearing strange noises. I am in my office right now, it’s after 10:00 on a Saturday night and I am locked in and about as alone as you can get.

I really think there is something here, it’s pretty amazing. Surprisingly I’m not scared of it, though every time I hear something strange it does make my heart pound for a minute. I keep hearing rustling, footsteps right outside my door walking down the internal hallway and over the past six hours I’ve heard a woman’s voice twice. I keep getting up and looking around and there’s nothing to see. It’s bizarre but actually cool. If it felt malevolent I’d probably be running out of here screaming.

I'll sound like a kook, but here goes... 3 years ago

The first time I was at a Foursquare church camp, young high-school age, and I “witnessed” the exorcism of a fellow camper. The skeptic in me now says it could have been a set-up, theatrics, intended to drive the point home in our impressionable little minds. But I know what I saw, what I heard, and if it was all fake it was an incredibly impressive performance.

The second time I was in my early twenties (and not on drugs). I was having a nightmare and tried to wake myself up. I felt this incredible pressure crushing my lungs, I couldn’t breathe, I heard loudguttural growling and I couldn’t open my eyes. I finally snapped out of it by screaming and thrashing around. (I know…I couldn’t breathe, but I could scream?) When I told my husband about this he researched it and came up with theory that it was a physiological reaction to being in a twilight-state, caught between sleeping and waking. Okay, I can understand that, but I have also had many moments of being half-asleep in my 37 years and no other time have I ever found the prince of darkness sitting on me.

This is probably a mistake, putting this on my list. I seem to get what I ask for.

I’ve met them twice. Or not at all, if you ask my husband. After listening to one of my stories he decided one of them was a physiological response, not a ghostly encounter. The other story I’m sure he thinks is just BS. Neither experience was fluffy and happy, they both seemed rather evil. Even though it conflicts with my fundamentalist Christian background, I find the supernatural fascinating. I have no trouble believing in ghosts, angels, the dearly departed, all of it.
