I’m making my own deck out of note cards! I’ve been hand drawing each one front and back. Since I am so in tune with water, I have made them mermaid themed; shells=cups, seaweed=pentacles, tridants=swords, and bubbles=wands, to coinside with the elements. What I do us draw a rough draft in pencil, darken the lines, color and shade, then apply a layer of hairspray to each side of the card so that they don’t smudge or transfer color to other cards. If your not an artist, print out pics of each card and backings. Then, place them so that the pics are facing out. After that, laminate, or apply a layer of tape to both sides covering both sides of the card, then cut off the excess. That’s all you have to do….or you can splurge 20$ for a commercial grade tarot deck, but it won’t be as personal.

I noticed today that a lot of people were looking at me. Like more than a glance and less than a stare. This kid kept hanging around my house talking to me as I cleaned out the garage. Then when I left to the movie theater with my mom, a kid did a double take when she saw me and almost everyone we drove by glanced at me. It was like I was a celebrity look alike or something. Then I’ve noticed that I always seem to know where the moon is. Like when I walked out of the theater, I snapped my head to the left and there it was; clear and beautiful in all her radiance. On top of that, my premenitions are getting stronger. As I was cleaning the garage, I had a strong feeling that my friend Josh wanted to talk to me and just as his car backed up, I looked up and saw him. It was the strangest thing. I always seem to know when and how things are going to be. Like when I snuck out to perform my first Esbat, I knew I wasn’t going to get caught.

I had tried to make one before out of twigs and a stick for the handle, but I forgot to dry out the twigs and then was afraid of them snapping. I got the idea for the grasses, I wanted to use straw, when I was looking out the window at the field behind my house. There was a large patch of golden, straw-like grasses just behind my fence and I thought that they would make a great besom! So I went outside and pulled a couple handfulls, after explaining to them that they were to be used for magickal workings. I got my bundle and went back inside. I placed them side by side on the floor, bristle tips alined, and cut them all at about the same length. I wrapped them fairly evenly around my stick about 6” from the end. Then I started wrapping string tightly around the bundle starting 3” from the edge of the cut off straw. I wrapped it until there was 5” of wrapped around yarn holding the grasses firmly in place. All together it’s about 4’ tall. I still need to cleanse and consecrate it, but at least it’s made now.

I was walking around the pond at the park and I found a stone with a flat side that showed a circle like the core of the stone. I kept it because it reminded me of the core of the Earth. When I looked back down I found another one just like it. Come to find out, they fit perfectly together! It reminded me of the two halves, the Goddess and the God, it takes to make up our Earth ^ so I washed them, cleansed them, drew a sun on one half, and the three moons “)O(” on the other. They’re going to be like my little God and Goddess statues ^

So I was walking by the pond at my dad’s house and I found a lot of geese feathers and I thought “hey! These would make great pens!” so I figured you all might like to know how to make some for writing on parchment for spells if you have to use certain inks or if you just think they’re cool ^ First find a feather from any breed of bird you like and make sure the tip of the “writing” end of the feather to the base of the feathering part is about the length of your finger. Next, clip about 3 centimeter off the tip. For feather pens, stick the ink portion of a ball point pen into the hole you created until only the tip is showing. If you need to trim the ink, do it so that there’s a little bit above the ink so you don’t make a mess. For quils you just cut the tip to a little square point and you’re done! Nothing to it ^

I found a prickly seed that reminded me of a movie with Hugh Jackman where the seed was from the tree of Life. Then I found a pretty Blue Jay feather, and some large thorns I indend to use to carve and write on candles for candle magick; one is green the other is red and yellow. After that, I found six tiny shells by the lake. They’re so cute! Then I went to the park and found some geese and duck feathers, and either a crow or a raven feather. I’m going to turn the geese feathers into quils and use the other feathers for my altar or something, haven’t really decided yet. Thought I’d share :)

there is so much more that goes into this than just claiming to be a witch. reading , learning, studies, discussion, writing(I would rather write my own spells and chants, they work so much better for ME). A lot of hard work and dedication(BUT oh so worth it if you stick it out)
