pray more

I don’t think this is something that I can ever say I will really achieved, but I’m still working on it

I am not religious. I am trying to find my faith right now. I have been going through a lot of hard times. I just want to a woman of faith conference and I feel it was wonderful for me. I am going to try to pray more for god to come into my life.

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Do you need Me?
I am there.

You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.
You cannot feel Me, yet I am the power at work in your hands.

I am at work, though you do not understand My ways.
I am at work, though you do not understand My works.
I am not strange visions. I am not mysteries.

Only in absolute stillness, beyond self, can you know Me
as I am, and then but as a feeling and a faith.

Yet I am there. Yet I hear. Yet I answer.
When you need Me, I am there.
Even if you deny Me, I am there.
Even when you feel most alone, I am there.
Even in your fears, I am there.
Even in your pain, I am there.

I am there when you pray and when you do not pray.
I am in you, and you are in Me.
Only in your mind can you feel separate from Me, for
only in your mind are the mists of “yours” and “mine.”
Yet only with your mind can you know Me and experience Me.

Empty your heart of empty fears.
When you get yourself out of the way, I am there.
You can of yourself do nothing, but I can do all.
And I am in all.

Though you may not see the good, good is there, for
I am there. I am there because I have to be, because I am.

Only in Me does the world have meaning;
only out of Me does the world take form;
only because of Me does the world go forward.
I am the law on which the movement of the stars
and the growth of living cells are founded.

I am the love that is the law’s fulfilling.
I am assurance.
I am peace.
I am oneness.
I am the law that you can live by.
I am the love that you can cling to.
I am your assurance.
I am your peace.
I am ONE with you.
I am.

Though you fail to find Me, I do not fail you.
Though your faith in Me is unsure,
My faith in you never wavers,
because I know you, because I love you.

Beloved, I AM there.

... to Praise Night (youth group) for the first time in a year or two. Got to see some old familiar faces and we prayed so hard it made me cry a bit. It was embarrassing but also sort of refreshing.
Too bad I have to skip church today. I have so much schoolwork.

Its been a little while for me since ive prayed and well I have to say I am really struggling on how to get on track again. I dunno where to start really.

I like doing meditational prayer. Its much more relaxing and peaceful. You should try it. :)

I’m just thinking that I used to pray every night when I was little. But ever since I was probably 12 or so, I haven’t prayed personally. I mean, I always pray before meals, and if I need something (rolls eyes). Just one-on-One, me and God, thanking Him for everything, you know, I don’t do that anymore. I did say the Lord’s Prayer twice last week right before I went to sleep. I couldn’t think of what to say. I’ve been more interested in Bible verses, though. I’ve written out a few good ones. I’ve been thinking I should probably memorize some so that if the end comes and they burn all the Bibles or whatnot, I’ve got that stuff in my head. And seriously, that may sound crazy, but the worst thing for me would be for that to actually happen and I end up not being prepared. Even if that doesn’t happen, memorizing parts of the Bible can’t hurt. Y’know, I’m just sort of paranoid. It will make me a better person.

I’m just waiting for someone to write me off as some crazy religious zealot…. No, but seriously – I’m not telling anyone how to live their life. So nobody get on my case for my beliefs. I’m not scared of the end times. Even if I don’t have Bible verses in my head, I’ve got tons of songs that would help. Besides – NOBODY can prove that the end of time isn’t going to go down like that. So I’ll just be prepared. I’ll pray more and memorize some verses. The end.

I am asking God to show me how to pray. Pray so that I pray for God’s reasons not mine. I don’t want to be a “I want this and I want that” kind of prayer person. I desire to connect with God and pray towards what He has in mind. Give me wisdom God. Amen.
