Living in Britain, means that I’m not allowed to carry anything at all to defend myself with. Personally I think that’s appaling. I’ve never broken the law in my life, and now that I’m confined to an electric wheelchair, with the use of only one arm, I’m completely defenceless. Yet, if I carried anything with which to defend myself, even a heavy torch – I’d be the criminal.
Meanwhile every criminal and thug in the world, are armed with knives, guns, you name it.
Many self-defense courses, completey fail to address the safety issues of the disabled. But one course by a Russian, who trained the Spetzna [?spelling], teaches a system which could be adapted. He teaches how to defend from attacks while you’re sitting in a car, sitting behind a desk etc. Seems worth looking into.
