How I did it: I learnt to dive because my sister talked me into it and at first I was petrified. But the more I did the more I enjoyed it that I went on to become a diving instructor and travelled the world teaching people how to dive. I also specialised in underwater photography and worked on luxury live-aboard boats taking photo's with the rich! Lessons & tips: Take your time, don't try to rush it. According to a certain diver I know, I really have to gain some muscle (strength), endurance, and flexibility. Now that makes me sound like a blob. But I am not – high metabolism with this very skinny frame. Just because I am slim doesn’t give me an excuse to not exercise. So now I am starting off with the foundation exercises this week.

I went on an ocean tour in a glass bottomed boat and was able to see all these exotic fish and corals, but i wanted MORE! I didn’t know you had to be certified, though, so I want to get certified and then go explore the reefs!

and not having your scuba license is criminal! So much to see, and snorkeling just doesn’t cut it sometimes.
I’ve always wanted to try Scuba, but I want to actually do it properly and get my license (rather than just take a few leisure dives).

When I was little my mother used to scuba dive and I said that when I was 15 years I would (in Sweden that is the age limit). Now I am 16 and I havn’t started yet.
Money is making this a little difficult right now. But I sure do miss the bliss of being underwater. It is so peaceful!
Planning on doing the certification this weekend.
Last weekend was a lot of fun, and I haven’t even really been diving yet.
So I did a little research and got in touch with an instructor. Met with him today and will hopefully start classes next week. I am a little scared…I am making a serious commitment financially, as well as physically. Will have to improve my swimming as well…But I said I wanted to do it…so here goes!
The class starts with theory of about 15 hours, so that will take me about another month (a few hours per week)...then pool training maybe another few weeks… and then finally…open water!!!! I get a little scared just thinking about it. I need to keep telling myself that I will see it through.
Taking the class this weekend… still need to workout the when/where of getting certified.
