isnt it true that if you’re in your personal power and integrity, then your voice is strong clear & sounds .. pleasant? I’m a singer music maker, and i know that if I strain, if I’m not feeling good when i sing, then its like ouch that sounds horrible. But if i’m smiling a deep big smile right from my diaphragm, then it sounds ok. someone said as a performer you’ve got to sell your pleasure, not your pain, even if its a sad song..

How I did it: Ok, so this is one of those goals where it's not like you just learn to sing and then that's it, you're done... it's ongoing! I've been taking singing lessons for almost a year now and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I am improving very slowly and although I'm not amazing it makes me feel good and completely de-stresses me :) Read how I did it…

How I did it: I vocalized my voice and sang all the time like at school, home, partys, and finally on stage.I had to sing the National Anthem at school so it really paid off. After that everybody, even the BOYS said I was good. YA. Read how I did it…

I love to sing, but I would like to learn to train my voice so that what is fun for me isn’t painful for those around me.
I decided to finally move forward with this one. I have begun taking vocal lessons. It’s really a strange thing—to sing for someone else. Save for karaoke, I’ve only really sung for myself, by myself. So to have to sing in front of someone else is such a bizarre feeling. You feel vulnerable, really. I have a newfound respect for people who sing for a living, who perform. It really takes courage and confidence to sing out at full volume and not shy away from it when someone is listening to your every sour note and mistake.
That is one good thing about taking lessons, though—I am getting more comfortable with the idea of singing in front of my teacher.
Besides taking lessons, I am to practice at least 30 minutes every day. Like the Japanese lessons I’ve started taking, I’ve been slipping on this one over the holidays (not as far as attending the lessons, but as far as practicing at home), but prior to that I was doing okay.
It’s quite a challenge—I’ve never really thought of the voice as an instrument that can be improved. Trying to change the way you’ve sung all your life is hard. And you can’t really avoid sounding like you.
I love singing, and I so want to improve. It’s sometimes frustrating because, whatever improvements I can make, I’m sure it’s going to take a lot of deliberate practice. This isn’t the piano, a language, something external. I just wonder… how much can I improve?
If I do want to improve though, the only way is to practice consistently. So let’s see how I do with that!
I took singing lessons for two months over the summer (2008) but had to stop because of school. I still sing but not as much as I would like. I don’t practice in a very formal way, which I would like to do. I am auditioning for a voice class at my university and crossing my fingers that I can get in! If not, I’ll look into taking private lessons again.
I AM 30 YEARS OLD AND NEED HELP TO SING AND EVEN PUT IT ON A CD

But I was never that good. It would be nice to hone a skill that I already have.
