I’ve always admired the beauty and magnificance of the Patagonia region in South America. In my humble opinion, this is one of the last great wildernesses on the planet and I hope to visit it with my Canon 10D :)

I’m hoping to go with a summer camp called Telluride Academy. I know the counsellor and some of the other campers, and they’re all totally cool, so I’m really excited! As long as I get my application in and stuff like that, I’m definitely going. We’re going to river kayak, whitewater raft, mountain bike, mountaineer, and spend Christmas there. :D
I bought my plane ticket today. Paid $1,900. Expensive but I think it’ll be worth it. I’ll be there for 3 months, October-early January. I am so excited. I’ll be living in Ushuaia. I can’t wait to go hiking!
i leave in one week! i am getting a to do off my list!
I am going to chile and argentina. the trek for 3 weeks,, oh and turn 30!
tomorrow makes a year that i started hiking the appalachian trail…. more amazing things to come!
I’m heading to Patagonia for a two-week hiking trip in late December/early January – and couldn’t be more excited. I’ve totally been short-changing myself for the last couple of years with regards to travel, so Argentina and Chile are my way of making up for it.
I have been to Bariloche in Argentina. It was incredible. Also visited the whole Chilean side practically. And within the next two months I will be visiting Torres del Paine.
WORTH IT! It´s beautiful.
Hiking Patagonia is expensive! It costs around $4.5K through REI or KEAdventure for a 2.5 wk trip. Looks like its totally worth it though.. especially if I get frostbite and lose a couple of toes
here I am, my mind so full of memories that I don’t know where to begin. the view from my window of the horns… the guanacos 20 or so feet away from us… the incredible blue and black rivers… driving the boat right up to an iceberg…. cantering along the twisty mountain edge trails and crossing the river on horseback… the jumping cat… pushing up the moraine in light sleet to get to the frozen lake… seeing the park from 360 degrees… the whole thing was a whirlwind and I am already looking forward to going back…
