write more songs and poems

On tuesday i wrote and played a new song in the space of half an hour and i had it recorded in an hour! I was so pleased with myself. It has to be one of the best songs i have done for ages too. I think that is how some of the best songs are written actually, they just come to you and you know exactly how you want it to sound. Sometimes i can sit there for ages trying to come up with something and it just doesn’t work. Annoyingly though one of the strings on my guitar broke straight after that song, i don’t know how it happen coz it was fine when i left it and then i came back abit later and it had pinged! Will go and get it fixed tomorrow or in the week sometime.

I write songs and then i have a gap where i don’t do anything and then i regret stopping coz you get out of practise. I want to write consistently even if it isn’t anything worth keeping or making into a song. Also i want to be happy with just writing poems, not necessarily turning them into songs as i always feel that i have failed if i don’t put music to my writings.
