 "24 hour natural birth. healthy 7lb. 12 oz baby boy!"
How I did it: with the help, love, and support of my partner! My water broke on the due date and 24 hours later Oliver was born. We didn't know whether we were having a girl or boy, so it was very exciting. I really wanted a drug free labor but in the end, the labor was stalling and I needed to get my body to relax, so after the epidural I was ready to push! He is now almost a year old! How I did it: Lots and lots of drugs! Stadol twice to get me through a night of slow dilation (I was induced with Cervidil), an epidural that eased the pain of contractions and then took them away completely (not a good thing, believe me). Read how I did it…

I’m tired of waiting already! My stomach might as well be the size of a pumpkin. It’s driving me insane! I’m on my 4th (or 5th, I sometimes forget XD) month, and it’s starting to annoy me. I’m mostly worried about when the birth happens. Like, will I be in the middle of class when it does? GOD that would be emberresing!

After a great week-end outdoors with friends, we came back with nuts that we picked on the ground beneath the trees, and as I was not feeling so good I took this home test… the result was strikingly positive

I’m feeling mostly sad those days, sometimes wondering if I really wanted what is happening now, wondering how I will cope with that once the baby’s here. It’s hard to “let go” and “wait and see”, as I know I should.

I gave birth to a healthy baby boy on jan 28th 2008. He was 21 inches long and 7lbs 8 oz. This was definitely worth doing.
