Why do we not see the flag draped coffins returning home? Or hear the names of those killed on the national news each night? How come we never hear a count of the Iraqi citizens we’ve killed in the mainstream media? How come we think there is actually a way to “win” this in the traditional sense? Are we just too proud to admit we’ve $#x%x^* up Iraq and done irreparable damage to world opinion about the US?

I attended an event a few months ago where 1900+ little green plastic army men (you remember them right?) were lined up on a large folding table to represent & commemorate the U.S. troops that have served and perished.
I helped to set them up. Some had shoulder fired weapons, some with hand grenades, some talking on walkie talkies—all with those big plastic bases to help them stand up. I’d not seen or touched these since I was a little kid playing in the dirt.
Months later, I still often think of this display of toy soldiers. And the parents that stopped to look – with their children – and explained what these little time-warp solders represent. And the sacrifice made. And they all looked so confused & sad.

Was so happy to heard that there are a few folks in Congress calling for a dated withdrawl from Iraq.
If they represent your area please thank them!

Suppose this is what the military/gov’t wants you to believe. Never see the heavy flag-draped caskets come back, never see the un- (or under) armored humvees being blown up on live TV, never hear about how many civilians (both sides) have died.
A friend of mine just has her son join up. Seems to relate to having his college debt paid/relieved. But you just know he’ll be in Iraq in no time soon. Sure they’re/we’re proud of his commitment but was he raised for this?
God bless all (on both sides) who sacrifice but what is being gained? I just DON’T feel any safer.

OK, I’m #$x%x* tired of hearing who – Iraqi & American both – dies each day. What a mess. Seems like people just don’t give a rat’s ass about this cesspool that we’ve gotten ourself into and the further harm we do w/in the world community. Is this some kind of a crusade?!!
