sld1I'm finding more & more

that my faith life, social life, political life (almost every phase but work life) are sooo inter-twined.

Guess I’m increasingly consistent. Maybe I’ve found some sort of ‘center’. 4 years ago

sld1More opportunities

I’m considering exploring a ‘commissioned lay pastor’ program. Not for the money, certainly…but to better my skills in speaking/preaching/sharing my gifts with others. 5 years ago

sld1Political/social action

More and more I’m seeing my faith and beliefs reflected in the organizations and causes that I work to support… 5 years ago

sld1Thankful.

Went to sunrise worship service this Easter morning. I am missing the sleep but am really glad that I went to worship.

I’m tooo quick to gripe about sleep deprivation, other minor inconveniences that are in my path. And tooo slow to remember people whose faith has survived amazing challenges and obstacles. 6 years ago

sld1Almost a year now.

...since I was in Israel/Palestine. I went knowing a journey there was long over due. My interest had been educated as much as it could w/o seeing the facts ‘on the ground’.

I continue to speak to large groups, small groups, the media & on one-on-ones. I am more motiviated – and inspired – now than I was upon my return.

The urgency of the human rights and humanitian situation only grows more intense. And I feel called to educate and question others re: this continuing crisis.

All deserve security, a future, hope, education, healthcare, justice and a state.

I feel that I am living my faith. Will leave this goal on my list since this is really up to God not me! 6 years ago

sld1This evening

Had a conversation with a Middle Eastern Christian this evening (business associate) over dinner. Told him what I saw in the occupied West Bank. He is not able to go there because he needs to be able to travel to other Arab/Muslim countries & cannot have an Israeli stamp on his passport.

It is important for me to witness to others the plight of Christians and Muslim Palestinians. As well the need for security for Israelis. And the complexities of this conflict. 6 years ago

sld1death penalty

How can someone SAY they are a Christian and then feel comfortable to PASS ALONG an judgement that another human being (no matter how heinous) should be put to death?

Why don’t we just hang people in the public square? Make a show, make some money?!

What if someone innocent is killed? Who are we—acting like God? 7 years ago

sld1Sometimes

...living out my faith is best done out in community. It’s where our faith is tested, worn, challenged and grown. 7 years ago

sld1Personal Experience

I have an opportunity to visit Israel/Palestine in upcoming months. Two opportunities actually. I just need to choose which one.

I’ve worked on learning/understanding the conflict and its dynamics as well as the need for dialogue between Jews, Muslims and Christians.

Now I’ll get to experience it personally. I’ve not had to “see to believe” the urgency of justice and peace but now I will be able to learn firsthand. Blessed! 7 years ago

sld1Revelation.

I find – increasingly – that when I live out, pursue & support my beliefs through actions that my life has more meaning. And I feel more productive/connected. 7 years ago

sld1Peace Center

I had the opportunity to be present for the opening of a “peace center” in a local town. What a wonderful event. It’s all about people who walk the walk and are living out their faith/beliefs and are welcoming others to do the same. 7 years ago

sld1Soo important

Lot’s of folks say “I’m this” or “I’m that” but when it comes right down to it they aren’t really or don’t really.

Doing the faith walk is tougher but significantly more important that the faith talk… 7 years ago

sld1An activist?

Had a respected friend introduce me to someone “as an activist.” I was tickled. Feel this speaks to my faith, my actions, my effectiveness. Will likely never forget this interaction! 7 years ago

sld1We say that we do...

Need to continue focus on “walking the walk”. Not easy but that what’s makes it all the more important. 7 years ago
