...I finished one test, so I am an “MCP,” for whatever that’s worth. Only a couple more tests to go for the MCSA.
How I did it: I took the exams 70-290, 70-291, 70-089, 70-620.
My last exam was 70-290 and it has the most content among them and even studying alot my score was 720.. good enough though.. im ok with that!
Lessons & tips: never give up and always think about how to reach yr goals

I’m lacking 1 test from getting this and it has been pissing me off lately. I’m moving across the country at the end of next month and just haven’t had time. I’m leaving my job so they won’t be paying for classes, but I think I can handle it on my own. I just need about 2 weeks of studying and it will happen.
Well it took me 2 times, but I got it right the second. For those interested, Microsoft is offering a free retake on all their exams. You need to sign up and receive a voucher # prior to taking the first test. When you sign up, give them the MS voucher while you pay for your class. If you fail, the retry is on MS.

That is all…
I,m starting MCSA program tomorrow. I’m making a career change. I like the rapid change of technology. What do you think the most conflicting thing is about MCSA? Do you think adding a project management cert is over kill for someone who changed careers and already has two degrees in the sciences.
Got cold feet on my 70-290 test for this morning and have rescheduled it for Friday morning. When I told the girl what test I was taking she commented, “Oh, thats a long one.” Very reassuring…
I’m freaking about the simulations….
I’m a Linux guy myself. I’m much happier working with Linux than I’ll ever be with Windows. It’s a long story but my previous employer thought it would be important for me to do this. So now I’ m an MCSA. And I don’t really care. Good thing about this is that I also did CompTIA Security+ along the way, which was kinda interesting.
These exams are not too hard. I did all exams in one try with 900+ scores. It’s just a matter of preparing well and having a great coach during the course.
Finally got around to taking the class for this exam. My business is paying so I thought it would be great to get the hand-on experience.
Things are good so far (2 out of 5 days in). I’m getting some good active directory experience. I’ve set up a virtual lab on my machine using virtual pc (free) and loaded trial versions of server 2003 and xp pro.
I have hella work when i get back next week. I’ll be deploying about 175 machines alone around 5 states so i’ll be busy for the next few months. I’m glad I was able to squeeze this in.
After taking a course at the end of January (that the company paid for) I finally got around to taking the test. I PASSED!
58 questions, 2:15 test time, and you need it.
These test blow away Comptia tests.
Can’t decide which to go after next 290 or 291. But tonight….I drink to me!
