I love the idea of going away somewhere, just me and a world of possibilities, with no one else to accommodate. Maybe someday!
How to take a vacation by myself.
How I did it: I found out one of my favorite musicians (John Mayer) was going to be in Boston doing a concert on a Saturday night. I knew I wanted to go but it wasn't until I found second row seats that I made the decision to do it. I booked a plane ticket and a hotel and traveled to Boston on Friday night by myself. I spent the whole weekend in Boston taking the subway, walking around, doing whatever I wanted to do. It was wonderful. The concert was great too!

Cheryl is revamping her list!
I’m really excited about my trip to Boston on the 27th this month. I really wish I could hit fast forward through this month and just get there already! I still have no idea what I’m going to do all week when I’m there but I’m sure I’ll figure out a few things. How fun!

I’m so excited that I’m actually doing this. I’ve bought my ticket, I’ve made the reservation, and now I’m just doing some research on what I really want to see. I’ll be there from August 27 – September 3. Seven nights all by myself… thrilling!

Not really a vacation, but I took a day trip to Mystic Seaport last week. It was so nice to go alone…I was able to spend an inordinate amount of time in the art exhibits and not worry about boring someone else. :) I was completely blown away by their beautiful collection and figureheads and ship carvings.
It was a really great treat for myself to make the trip and I’m excited to plan more like it in the future.
I went to Cancun on my own and few mini-roadies here in Colorado. You will LOVE traveling on your own…
You learn so much about yourself it is hard to explain. Breaking out of one’s comfort zone is so important!
Raven is Doing the little stuff
I’ve done this – I would still prefer to go with someone special – but I don’t think that is going to happen and I am NOT going to sit around waiting. There are just too many places to go, people to meet, things to do to wait

Going to South Carolina for a week.
My little soldier girl and her boyfriend are back from Iraq for vacation. And his parents will be there, so i get to meet them. And I’ll get to see my grandson too.
And my youngest son is there and his girlfriend is scheduled to have labor induced on Thursday – so I will get to see my second grandson as well.
I can do all the things I want to do whether it is sleep late, go antique shopping, etc.
marezydotes is now new and improved!
I’m a very sharing person, and usually only enjoy experiences when I have them with others. But…I had the opportunity once to be in Greece kind of by myself – I was with a small college group, but had a room to myself, and time to myself to wander around the streets of some small towns and it was one of the best times of my life. I felt completely free and in control of my own life. I’d like to do that again.
