SF marathon  — 1 month ago

I signed up with Team in Training. I figured the odds of getting lucky with the lottery were slim. I’m 52 years old, 20 pounds overweight and this will be my 7th marathon. Team in Training is awesome.

Any dates yet?  — 5 months ago

The course looks very pretty. and it’s at sea level. That will be a nice change. I’m looking forward to it. Has anything been posted for registration dates?

I can't believe this!!!  — 5 months ago

This is a very out of character thing for me to try and accomplish. I have always been athletic, but I HATE running. When my Aunt Callie approached me the other night at a family get together and asked if I wanted her to be my training couch for this, I was shocked. And thought in my head wow, she really thinks I have it in me to run 26 miles. At that same moment my Dad walked by and said, Emily, you can’t run a marathon…. “Yes, I can,” I replied. Knowing that he thinks I can’t accomplish this makes me want to finish it that much more. I’ve never felt like my Dad as excepted anything I do, so in a way I can prove him wrong here and show him that I have it in me to accomplish anything I put my heart and soul into. I am turning 21 this year, so it’s a big year already, why not finish something I never even dreamed of doing??? So, that is why I’m doing the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco. I will start my training today. :) Good Luck to everyone!!

PS
And the Tiffany’s diamond necklace as another motivation isn’t to shabby either :)
