Study in China

The Study in China Programme has just announced that there will definately be a programme running this summer. Seeing as I will be going back to Keele Uni after the summer (rather than France like this year or Canada the year before) I don’t need to be saving up money, plus I am still waiting for the second part of my Erasmus grant so money should not be a big problem. Just need to start filling in my application form!

I withdrew my application. I’m completely gutted. On the one hand I think it was very sensible of me to decide, based on shortage of funds, that it would be better for me not to go. On the other hand, I feel I am just taking my usual, lazy, non-committed route. As the Virgin Credit card advert shows, I need to say “yes” more to things. So instead of spending 3 fantastic weeks in Beijing learning Chinese, visiting China and having an amazing time, I shall be at home, working at McDonalds, feeling sorry for myself.

I have a place on the course running from the 19th of July to the 9th of August! I just have to wait to see if I’ve also got the bursary otherwise I cannot go.. though, considering I said I would not be able to proceed with my application if I did not get the bursary, surely it would make sense to assume I have it? ponders

So Excited!!

So maybe this is not my time to go, which I’m disappointed by, especially seeing as it was all paid for! But I guess I should be more focussed on my studies in Canada. Next year maybe!

Chinesepod.com is an awesome website and now that I got an ipod for my birthday I’m learning Chinese in the car on the way to work. I also found some study programs for chinese medicine in china and am trying to convince a friend/colleague to go with me.
