Im trying to find classes for the summer for me and friends to learn sign language but can’t find any. Might end up buying a dvd.

Lot’s of places near me do courses in Irish Sign Language so I will do this in the summer!

as I was hardcore interested in learning more sign, I became involved with a man who is losing his sight…now I am challenged with learning braille, which is kinda exciting and scary. I’ve talked with some of the vision specialists I work with in the school district and they’ve all mentioned one doesn’t typically learn braille until the vision is gone completely or near gone-which will not happen for me. I know it’s possible, just another thing to add to my list to make me a better teacher, woman, wife, lover, friend. Looking forward to it! Signing and braillin’...

whether or not I was going to attempt progress here, a newly hired music teacher stopped in to let me know she was available a few times a week to supplement the special ed. music portion of the program…that she had a rather large repertoire of songs and fingerplays that incorporate american sign language!!! So, I signed her up right away, first thing Monday morning. Thank goodness for small miracles!
I was really motivated for a couple months but it was hard doing it on my own. I don’t anticipate I’ll be able to do this for a while, but I love sign language. I fingerspell to myself all the time, people must think I’m nuts. : )

coming in with little to no functional language. I met him yesterday and realized how little sign I know…I primarily use P.E.C.S. in the classroom but want to make sure he has other ways to communicate aside from just pictures…we don’t have a sign specialist in district to my knowledge…anyone know a good place to start?!
