I think I did a pretty good job this semester trying to read in my little free time. I read the first and second books in the Twilight series and am half way through the third. I can’t wait to finish them and get to the next book. I really want to read “Mountains Beyond Mountains” about Paul Farmer and Partners in Health!

Sense and Sensibility 16 months ago

I really need to improve my reading speed and vocabulary! I overall don’t take nearly as much time reading as much as I should. So, I hope I can start reading books more regularly. One of the first ones I’d like to start with is the Jane Austen series. Really any of them – although, I have a slight preference for Sense and Sensibility. I saw a little clip of the Masterwork movie, and it looked like a good read. Sheesh, how ironic – No more TV for me!

I’ve been reading “Rose Daughter” by Robin McKinley. There are nic e benefits to reading for fun, one of which is help with depression and stress reduction. When you feel bad, it can sometimes be uplifting to pick up an engaging and inspirational book and get lost in the story. Well-written prose has this effect.

I read a book! For fun! 3 years ago

A friend of mine bought me a book as a gift for my bridal shower last October and I’ve finally gotten around to reading it! I read it in two days. It is called “the Food of Love” and essentially it’s foodie porn. Lots of delicious descriptions about food and cooking in Italy. And then sex. So – it’s basically beach reading for foodies. AKA, foodie porn! :) Molto buono.
