    Down 1.5 this morning/6.5 total

    What works…replaced the daily “fast food” with the fresh produce store that is on our way home….we can grab a pepperoni roll (I know, I know…but the kids love ‘em and I do too) some fruit and some drinks, then hit the park down the road. The only thing lacking is the toy…and they don’t even miss it and I definitely don’t.

    So….no fast food and running daily….even for 20 min…works.

    Habit that Works for Me 1 year ago

    I’ve been doing this for a few years now, and it has helped me toe the line with my eating and exercising on a daily basis. A few months ago, I stopped weighing myself when I was ignoring a diligent fitness plan. Now that I’m back in the habit, I’m moving this off my main list. But I’m going to keep doing this!

    As I mentioned in my first entry I use fitday.com to record each weight. Then I use the reports feature of this website and see my average weight over time. I know my weight will go up and down each day, but the very most important thing is to keep it from creeping up, up, up!

    Today is 145.5. Yay!

    My resolve to avoid sweets and get more exercise is giving me some immediate payoff with my weigh-ins.

    Yesterday was 146.5 and today is 146.

    Slow and steady.

    But I do need to see the number every morning. Like I said in my initial entry for this goal, it is controversial. Some experts say don’t weigh yourself more than once a week. I say, do what works for you. This is working for me.

    And yesterday: 147.5

    I’ve been to the gym both days, so I’m holding steady. And I’m going again today.

    I’ve traded workouts for doing holiday activities. I’ve nibbled on the Christmas cookie dough.

    So.

    My weight this morning was at 150. I’m okay with that over the holidays.

    When the holidays are over, it’s back to the gym and focusing on the healthiest food choices every minute of the day.
